This made me feel good

Just got a little note from a family that i photographed a few weeks ago. As a photographer(or maybe its why we are photographers) more than anything sometimes we like to know that what we do made someone else feel good. And nothing means more than a happy client. Occasionally they let us know more that just by spending money on the prints or albums or whatever. And in some ways it means a little bit more to get a payment like what we recieved below.

----------

I was first introduced to Jeremy's photography at a friend's wedding. My family and I live in the suburbs of Chicago and I was determined to have our family portrait done by Jeremy after seeing his work. On our recent trip to Missouri there was one stop we had to make - of course to Big Smile Studios in Springfield. I just received our pictures and I can not thank you enough!

Jeremy was easy to work with and made us feel comfortable. That's no easy task with two toddlers running amok. He somehow managed to corral our camera hating two-year-old and get some magnificent photos. We even had fun! His style is a far cry from the forced smile photography we have experienced previously and he allowed us to just be ourselves. Jeremy captured all of our personalities beautifully! His work is unique, creative and stunning. I can not thank you enough for capturing these memories that I will cherish always.

Sincerely,
Lauren Sturwold

Thanks guys, it means a lot. I am so happy that you had a good time. Its why we do what we do.

Jeremy and the Big Smile Staff.

Now for some of their photos.

Cool New thing we are doing- Portrait Composites

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are now offering 10x10, 20x20 and 5x10, 10x20 and 20x40 gallery style image composites, for all of our portrait sessions. Finally we are offering a cooler way to display number of images from your session, beyond the typical prints and books (something we should have been doing a long time ago) Here is a sample. They come mounted but we will probably offer a framed version as well. I am still working on pricing but if you want one for one of your sessions or a combination of sessions let me know ASAP and we will get you one (or two!)

HELP WANTED!!!

This past year has been full of ups and downs for me. My Studio, Big Smile Photography has grown light years in size and complexity. For the first time I added talented new photographers to the ranks. Big Smile has gone from being a small one man show to a successful multi photographer studio. Our clients and market have responded. And almost doubled the number of weddings from over 50 last year to projections of almost 100 this year. There have been growing pains, and new challenges, but we continue to move forward. With those challenges have come more success than I could have even imagined.

That brings us to 2008, and we are not done growing. My desire is to continue to inspire and enable young talented photographers (or even old talented photographers ) to do what they love and grow and develop as artists and be able to actually make money doing it. Our plan for this year is to add additional talent to our staff.

THE SEARCH IS ON! WE NEED YOU!
You, meaning talented, creative, fun photographers that are looking for a way to do what they love! Maybe you are a new talent looking for a way to break into wedding photography as more than just a hobby. Maybe your an old talent thats fed up with the business side of photography and you want to do more of what you love, actually shooting weddings!

This is a place where you can grow and develop, do what you love, have control over your art and vision, and connect with great people that are interested in having you shoot their weddings!

If you are interested in finding out more information send me an email or call me at the studio 417.499.0399. I look forward to speaking with you and finding the next great Big Smile Wedding Photographer!

Big Smile Welcomes Tina Hamilton

Big Smile Photography is proud to officially announce Tina Hamilton as part of the A-team of wedding photographers at Big Smile. "Teensie" has worked with us for a while now. She is a gifted photojournalist, with a great eye and a personality to match. Our couples tell us that Tina has a dynamit sense of humor and is a real treat to work with. Her specialty is capturing those emotional unscripted moments. Like a fly on the wall she blends into the surroundings. There is a good chance you wont even know she is there. Only when you see your photos will you begin to understand her gift. "Teensie" and her couples have such a good time together that even after she is finished photographing she is often asked to stay, hang out, and enjoy the festivities.
